The contents include:

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

The unconscious casualty/recovery position

Treatment for wounds and bleeding

Dressings and bandages

Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue damage

Burns and Scalds

Shock

Choking

Heart Attack

Record Keeping

First Aid Equipment

The course ends with an assessment of skills and knowledge, and a certificate of competence is issued valid for three years.  It can, shortly before expiry or up to 28 days after expiry, be renewed by completing the 2 Day refresher First Aid at Work Course.
